What Is Prevented Ocean Plastic?
Prevented Ocean Plastic is created from plastic waste that is collected from areas within 50 km of an ocean coastline or major waterways that feeds into the ocean.
Discarded plastic bottles are picked up by collectors from areas at risk of ocean plastic pollution. The bottles are then taken to local collection centres for payment. According to academic definitions, this plastic would likely end up in the ocean if not collected for recycling.
These recycled plastic PET bottles are then sorted and transformed into high-quality, food-safe recycled plastic known as rPET which is used to manufacture all manner of product from food packaging, drinkware and can even be woven to make textiles.
How Does The Program Work
- Once the plastic bottles are picked up they are then taken to local collection centres for payment.
- Here the plastic bottles are sorted and then pressed for transport to plastic recycling factories.
- In order to make raw material flakes or pallets, the plastic is washed, sanitised and then processed.
- Products are printed with the prevented ocean plastic logo, so the customer knows the story of the product.

We currently have two different styles of bottles that you can choose from, both of which are UK made.
The first is our H2O Active® Eco Base Water Bottle which has a classic sport look. Whilst our H2O Active® Eco Tempo has more of a retail feel.
No matter which 650 ml bottle you choose, you have a number of different options to choose from:
- A smoky translucent black or translucent blue base, both of which are created from Prevented Ocean Plastic
- Four different lid types – dome lid, flip lid, screw cap and spout lid
- A number of different lid colours (not recycled but recyclable) so that you can match this with your brand colours – please note: the black lid is made from in-house pre-consumer recycled plastic
Branding Your Printed Bottles
There are a number of ways you can brand these bottles.
In order to maximise your message and the story of these unique Items, we would recommend, printing ‘This bottle is made from Prevented Ocean Plastic’ onto the bottle with a QR code that lets the consumer find out more about the product.
This way the bottle is easily recognised as an eco-friendly product.
You can then add your logo/design to the front side of the bottle, which can be printed in either spot colours or a 360 degree seamless, stunning full-colour print.
