Braemar House

In June 2012, Lloyd Simpson MD purchased a period building he had been keeping a close eye since 2009 when it first went on the market. The 19th century vicarage was the former home of Elliott Construction and had been their Head Office for the past 25 years. At the time of being put on the open market, the price didn't reflect the current trading conditions and so interest was very low, especially as the building needed extensive refurbishment.

In 2010 plans were passed for the building to be demolished and a selection of starter homes to be erected in its place, following a tip off from a builder friend in early 2012, who had been approached to provide the demolition, LSi started negotiations with the owners in March of this year.

Phase 2 has already started, which is the erection of a two storey extension to the back of the existing Northfield House, this will give us a larger on site warehouse and approx. 2000ft² in showroom space, which we believe will be the largest in the UK merchandise industry and allow us to conduct customer visits and also supplier/manufacturer workshops for both staff and clients alike, the first of which we hope to be starting in early April.

Phase 3 - if all goes to plan this final phase will be a further extension to Braemar House, and will be a two storey extension to the south side of the building and will create two further offices, visitors toilets, a new boardroom and a staff canteen/coffee bar, which we hope will be a relaxing environment in which to entertain clients and suppliers, with far reaching views across the Spen Valley. This really will be the final icing on the cake to what is already an amazing building.

It is extremely satisfying to be finally working in Braemar, there were days when I honestly thought this day would not arrive but there has been so much hard work by some many people to get us to this point, I am so very proud of what we have achieved in getting to this position. Our sales figures for 2012 were also increased by 10% on the previous year, so all in all, the year was a massive success for us and will hopefully help us kick on again in 2013."

"We would encourage all our customers to visit us at some point this year. We would love to show you around and explain what makes us different from our competitors! We are investing for the future and hopefully this will bring about some exciting opportunities."
